A Cedar Rapids man has been arrested and is now facing charges for allegedly kidnapping an individual, assaulting them, and making threats to kill them.
According to the Strawberry Point police, on October 2nd, Jessie Collione, aged 39, visited the victim’s home in Strawberry Point without invitation. Collione proceeded to threaten both the victim and the victim’s mother.
Once inside the home, Collione proceeded to steal the victim’s cellphone, effectively preventing her from seeking assistance by dialing 911.
After arriving in Dundee, the police reported that the victim managed to flee from their captors and sought help from a local homeowner.
Collione escaped from the scene and managed to avoid the police for a number of days. Nevertheless, he has now been apprehended and is in custody.
Collione is facing a range of charges, which include third-degree kidnapping, second-degree robbery, second-degree burglary, third-degree theft, and obstruction of emergency communications.
In September, he faced additional charges relating to the same victim, including two counts of domestic abuse assault and child endangerment.
