During the Latino roundtable event held at Trump National Doral in Miami, the Republican presidential nominee once again emphasized his intention to deploy the U.S. military against political adversaries if he is reelected, using a newly coined catchphrase.
“We have an enemy from within,” stated Trump, referring to the potential threat that exists within our own society. Applause filled the room as everyone showed their appreciation.
In September, Trump made an unsubstantiated claim that Democrats were behind numerous assassination attempts targeting him. “The former president declared it as the enemy from within, stating that they are the real threat.”
In an interview with Fox News on October 13, Trump expressed his concerns about the state of the “radical left” and how it could potentially impact peace on Election Day.
“We are facing a group of individuals who are extremely disturbed – radical left lunatics,” asserted Trump. He emphasized that dealing with this situation should be a straightforward task, and if needed, the National Guard or even the military can step in. Trump went on to state his opinion that the internal threat poses a greater danger than foreign adversaries like China and Russia.
During a town hall held on Fox News three days later, President Trump broadened his definition of “enemies within” to encompass politicians like Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA).
Vance praised his ability to go beyond mere slogans, emphasizing that when faced with questions, he responds from a place of genuine conviction.
On Tuesday, Trump accused the Defense department of purposefully leaking classified information about Israel’s plans for retaliation against Iran, hurling the phrase at them.
Multiple reports indicate that it is still unknown whether the documents were intentionally leaked or obtained through a hack during the subsequent investigation.
When sharing a video on X, Harris’ campaign made a claim on Tuesday without providing any context. The message accompanying the video stated, “Trump says Americans who don’t support him are ‘the enemy within’.”
